Remuneration Stipend: N$ 7,514.25/month (training)
After training: N$ 90,171 – 109,428 per annum

Minimum requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification (NQF 5 or higher) majoring in Policing or Legal Studies
  • OR Tertiary qualification (NQF 5 or higher) majoring in Cyber Security
  • OR Tertiary qualification (NQF 5 or higher) in Accounting and Auditing (Commercial related studies)
  • Namibian citizen (certified copy of ID or valid Passport)
  • Between 18 and 35 years old at time of advertisement
  • Free from mental or physical defects, disease or infirmity
  • No criminal conviction or pending case
  • Must pass comprehensive medical checkup, physical examination, and pregnancy test (females)
  • Prepared to undergo interviews (written and physical fitness test) and Police Basic Training
  • Valid Code B or higher Driver's licence will be an added advantage
Legal provision for appointment: Section 4 of the Police Act, 1990 (Act No. 19 of 1990) as amended.
Core functions: Maintenance of law and order; Preservation of internal security; Investigation of offences; Prevention of crime; Protection of life and property.

Legal Provision & Service Commitment

Successful candidates will be entrusted with upholding law and order, preserving internal security, crime prevention, protection of life and property. All appointees must uphold the Namibian Constitution and Police Act (Act No. 19 of 1990, as amended). Officers may be required to work shifts, respond to emergencies, and commit to continuous professional development.

Note: Upon successful completion of Basic Training, Police Recruits will be permanently appointed as Cadet Constables and receive applicable service benefits.
