New / First application from dealers
- Copy of applicant's ID
- Pol 151 (found at the Police Station)
- Revenue stamp of N$50‑00 for each application
- Proof of Safe (receipt or inspection by Police officer)
- Two passport photos
- Purchase receipt of firearm from dealer
- Original application (Pol 563) signed by dealer
Application for a second hand firearm sold privately
- Copy of applicant's ID
- Pol 151
- Revenue stamp of N$50‑00 for each application
- Proof of Safe (receipt or inspection by Police officer)
- Two passport photos
- Statement from current licence holder confirming sale, plus copies of ID & licence
Second or more application
- Copy of applicant's ID
- Pol 151 – only if grounds to believe applicant committed/was convicted of schedule 1 offences after last licence
- Revenue stamp of N$50‑00 for each application
- Proof of Safe (receipt or inspection by Police officer)
- Copies of all licences possessed
Additional Categories
- Collecting Hunters, Sportspersons & Security Companies – N$100 Certificate + N$25 per licence
- Dealers (New/Duplicate/Temporary) – N$250
- Duplicate private/individual licences (lost/misplaced/damaged) – N$25 per licence

Inheritance or Heirloom

Import and Export Permits
Applications for firearms from foreign countries are processed first and imported once licensed in Namibia.
Authorization to poseSSess a firearm
Visa must be valid for at least four months.
- Purchase receipt from dealer or licence from country of origin
- Proof of safe + statement from Police officer
- Valid passport with visa page
- No revenue stamp, passport photos or VAT
Firearms bought in a foreign country
- Copy of applicant's ID
- Pol 151
- Revenue stamp of N$50‑00 for each application
- Proof of Safe (receipt or inspection by Police officer)
- Two passport photos
- Valuation from two dealers
- Proof of purchase
- Dealer details, date stamp & signature on page 2 of Pol 563
- Original forms only

Page 2 d) – Business address can be employment, farming, unemployed or pensioner.
Page 3 g) – Trade/profession should reflect the applicant's position, not "businessman/self-employed".
