Documents required and important information for applying for a Certificate of Conduct

Required Documents & Application Process

  • Copy of ID, Passport or Birth Certificate
  • NAD 100.00 application fee
  • An application can be made at the nearest Police Station in your area.
  • The Certificate must be collected by the applicant at the station where the application was made.
  • Fingerprints are taken and sent to the Namibian Police Criminal Record Bureau (N.P.C.R.B) where they are processed and a certificate is issued and returned to the relevant station.
  • Fingerprint evidence is crucial in criminal investigations as fingerprints are unique and unchanging.
  • Finger marks can link crimes or place a suspect at a crime scene.
Additional Information & Contact Details

  • Fingerprinting also helps identify victims after disasters like cyclones or bombings.
  • The usual waiting period for a certificate is about two (2) weeks due to verification processes.
  • Enquiries after one (1) week can be made at the police station where the application was submitted, not directly at N.P.C.R.B.
  • For expedited processing, include an official letter from the institution requiring the certificate explaining the urgency.
